On October 22nd, 2008, Katherine helped launched the new flagship boutique store for Australian fashion designer Peter Alexander at Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles. The event was also a fundraiser for two animal rescue charities - Hearts United for Animal Rescue and Kinder4Rescue both of whom will benefit from the proceeds of a Pajama line designed by Alexander and inspired by Katie's miniature schnauzer Romeo. On December 23rd, 2007 Katherine and Josh exchanged vows in an intimate wedding ceremony at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah. Around 80 guests - which included family and close friends were in attendance. Katie's sister Meg served as one of three bridesmaids and Grey's Anatomy co-star T.R. Knight as one of four groomsmen. Josh's brother Charles was the best man.

On November 10th, 2007 Katherine officially launched the new fragrance from Nautica - "My Voyage For Her" at an event held at the Casa Del Mar Hotel in Santa Monica, California. Earlier in the year she had been announced as the spokes model for the new scent and had shot a photo campaign for the Coty brand. In the video clips she discussed the new fragrance, the photoshoot on a sailboat off the coast of Long Beach and her new hairstyle.

Katherine and husband Josh Kelley attended the 7th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball at the Mandeville Canyon home of Susan Harris and Howard Kaiser on May 31st, 2008. Proceeds from the night which were over $1 million will directly fund Chrysalis employment programs, which help thousands of poor and homeless people across Los Angeles become self sufficient and change their lives through jobs. Katherine was the epitome of Old Hollywood glamour in a pale lilac Hugo Boss dress and vintage pearls.

The 80th Annual Academy Awards took place at the Kodak Theater at Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday, February 24th 2008.
